Open all year
What stays open in winter
The St. Eugene resort and its casino never close for the season. The golf course and RV park run April through October, then shut for winter. Hotel guests still have the outdoor heated pool all year, along with the hot tubs, sauna and fitness centre.
Winter does not change the casino's clock. Doors open at 11 am daily and close at 11 pm from Sunday through Thursday, or at 1 am after Friday and Saturday; for a holiday, look at casinooftherockies.ca. The Snack Shack and the 19th Hole, the golf clubhouse bar and grill, publish only golf-season hours, so a winter plan should not count on them.

A winter day
A winter day at the resort
Numa Lounge & Dining, the resort's restaurant inside the Mission building, puts out breakfast each morning between 7 am and 11 am. Under the same roof sits the Ktunaxa Interpretive Centre. On weekdays, Monday through Friday, its doors open from 9 am until 4:30 pm. Tours there must be arranged in advance, and the centre stays shut on Saturdays and Sundays.
From 11 am each day the casino is open. Dinner at Numa is 5 pm to 9:30 pm, Wednesday to Sunday. Kiʔsuʔk k̓ikiⱡ, whose Ktunaxa name means "good food", sits on a raised area above the gaming floor and serves from 11 am on any day. On Friday and Saturday its kitchen stays open until 11 pm. Sunday to Thursday, phoning 250-417-2772 is the best way to confirm a table after 10 pm.
The building
The building and its owners
The resort building was formerly the St. Eugene Mission residential school. Ownership and operation now rest with the Ktunaxa First Nation. Its owners, the Kenpesq't (Shuswap Indian Band) along with four Ktunaxa communities, are jointly called St. Eugene Mission Holdings Limited.
The Ktunaxa Nation Council operates the Ktunaxa Interpretive Centre, located inside the Mission building. Its hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Anyone wanting a tour books it ahead of time.
